of the Orange Washington Temperance Society
Believing that the use of intoxicating drink is not only unnecessary but positively injurious to health and happiness_ believing it the cause of poverty crime and premature death_ and believing that nothing less than the concentrated efforts of the friends of Temperance can remove the cause of these evils__ Resolved that we form ourselves into an association and adopt the following Constitution
Art 1" This Association shall be called the Orange Washington Temperance Society.
Art 2 We do solemnly PLEDGE ourselves that we will neither make sell use nor provide for others any spirituous or malt liquors_
