February 19". Monthly meeting held in the Church. The President called the meeting to order, & the exercises commenced with singing, and prayer by Rev. Mr. Williams. Deac. George F. Smith, of New Haven addressed the audience, giving a graphic account of the misery & wretchedness produced by the Liquor traffic in New Haven as witnessed by him as City Missionary, and closed with an affecting appeal to all present, to come up to the rescue and do all in their power to put down the traffic. Elbee J. Treat,, Merit E. Treat,, J. Sheldon Alling and Charles A. Clark, were chosen a committee to solicit funds for the county society.
Lewis Bradley,, Samuel Potter, and Rev. D. Williams were elected delegates to the next county meeting.
