eighth grade is that then they will be eligible to join the Forum. The meetings are opened with a devotional period, followed by a discussion on current topics of the day.

OTHER CHURCHES
THE CHAPEL OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD
In 1910 Rev. Floyd Kenyon, Rector of Christ Episcopal Church in West Haven, started a little mission in Tyler City. It had a very modest beginning, meeting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Scharff. In 1912 they purchased the old Tyler City schoolhouse, which was no longer in use, and fitted it up as a chapel, which they called The Chapel of The Good Shepherd. Some of the equipment, the altar and the altar rail, came from St. Paul's Episcopal Church in New Haven. The Bishop's chair is one of the oldest in use in this country, as it came from the original Christ Church in West Haven which was built in 1723. Services are held in the Chapel on the first Sunday night of each month, and there are over one hundred members.
Some years later, a parish house was built adjoining the Chapel. This is used for suppers and other social activities.
ST. PAUL'S ROMAN CATHOLIC PARISH
The parish of St. Paul in the Town of Orange was created by Bishop Nilan in 1916. It was to include all that section of the Town of Orange north of the main line of the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad.
In 1940 a religious instruction class for Catholic children was conducted at the home of Judge P. B.
O'Sullivan. Later that year the children were instructed at the public school. Holding these instruction classes was tried for a time during a recess period, but this system was not too successful.
