by Mr. Donald Marsh and Mr. Iverson Graham. Miss Jane Carlson presided at the business meeting, at which plans were discussed concerning a dance to raise money for the Fellowship's work. Members of other Fellowship groups are to bi invited. It was voted to buy a handsome book for the Library, to be presented in appreciation for the use of the meeting room. Colored slides illustrating "God's Gift to Nature" were next sh own, after which recreation and refreshments were enjoyed at Russell's Barn. The Fellowship has raised $20.00 and is sponsoring the basketball team which has won 5 out of 7 games in the New Haven Church League. On Sunday, January 28, the Bethany Fellowship will attend a regional meeting at Center Church in New Haven, at 4:00 P.M.
The 4 Leaf Clover 4-H club will hold its regular meeting at the James Harrison home on Carrington Road on Thursday, January 25, immediately after school.
Mrs. Sidney Svirsky, chairman of the Bethany Red Cross chapter, announced the beginning of a basic Home Nursing Course on Tuesday, January 23, at Red Cross Headquarters in Naugatuck. The group will meet on Tuesdays and Fridays from 7:30 to 9:30 P.M. This is mainly a refresher course for those wishing to qualify as Home Nursing Instructors. Plans are being made for another series of courses in Bethany when these instructor shall have completed their training.
At the last meeting of the Bethany Grange the program was conducted by the Home Economics Committee. After the literary prograom, which featured a film "Refreshments Through the Years" prepared by the Coca Cola Copmany, refreshments were served by a committee consisting of Mrs. Grace Markham (chairman), Miss CAtherine Todd, and Mrs. Elsie Downs. A Past Lecturer's Pin was presented to Mrs. Beatrice McCarroll and a blanket to Mrs. Elsie Downs, a recent bride.
