provide for others nor use as a beverage any Spiritous or Malt Liquors Wine or Cider and that we will by all fair and honorable means discountenance the making selling or useing [i.e., using] by others of either of the above articles and that we will earnestly endeaver [i.e., endeavor] to advance the cause of Temperance
Art 3 The Officers of this Society shall be a President two vice Presidents a Secretary and Treasurer and an executive committee of eight whose duty it shall be to visit every family and if practicable evry person in the Orange Society whose name is not on the pledge and use all suitable means to induce them to sign the Pledge an to attend each monthly meeting of the Society and report to the same and who shall hold their office till others are appointed
