who died in 1915, purchased the James Megin Farm and moved to Peck Road in Bethany, where he ran a large dairy farm for many years. On June 15, 1915 Mr. Booth was married to Miss Mary Anne Robbins of Norwalk, Connecticut.
During his years of residence here he wsa prominent in town affairs and deeply respected by its citizens. Included in the numerous public offices he held were those of selectman for twenty one years beginning in 1912-1914, 1915-1918, 1924-1928, 1932-1934, and from 1941 to the present time. He was a member of the Board of Education for eighteen years, from 1916 to 1925 and from 1926 to 1935. He was a member of the Board of Asssessors from 1911 to 1920 and from 1921 to 1927, and then again from 1928 to 1937, a total of eighteen years. He was an elector of the Democratic Party, and at various times held the office of Justice of the Peace, Grand Juror and served on the Board of Tax Review. He also acted as Moderator at many Town meetings. Mr. Booth was for many years a Trustee of The First Church of Christ, Congregational in Bethany and active in the Ecclesiastical Society. He wsa a Deacon from 1938 to 1941.
He is survived by his widow, Mary Anne Robbins Booth, a daughter, Mrs. Frank Fowler, also of Peck Road, three grandchildren: Mrs. Phyllis Russel; Sgs. Booth Fowler, stationed in Vienna; and Miss Hope Elizabeth Fowler, a senior murse at Grace hospital; and three great-grand children, Sharaon Russel; Booth G. Fowler, and Bryan Fowler.
