BETHANY NOTES
Robert Halpin of Bethany Airways, Inc. has offered to talk about flying and show a Technicolor film, “Air Age,” to the seventh and eighth grades of the Community School on Friday afternoon. This will be one of a series of Vocational Guidance discussions arranged for those pupils who will soon choose their high school courses.
The Young People’s Fellowship Group will meet at 7:30 Sunday evening in the Clark Memorial Library.
Senior Leaders of the Bethany 4-H groups, Mrs. Stanley Downs and Harland Tuttle, and Junior Leaders Miss Kathryn Cartmell, Miss Kay Harrison, Miss June Harrison, and Miss Sugie Doolittle, plan to attend the County 4-H Leader meeting and pot luck supper to be held at the Farm Bureau offices on Prospect Street on Saturday, February 20.

SPORTS
The Bethany Boys Basketball team played two games here againsti out-of-town teams last week and showed up well in both. On Thursday they lost to a team from Oxford by only one point – a score of 36 to 35. In the game on Friday, Bethany beat Prospect by a score of 35 to 19.

WOODBRIDGE NOTES
Willa Perkins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Perkins, Mary Lou Gordon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Horace S. Gordon, and Arlene Perrotti, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Perrotti, have maintained their places in the contest for the Editorial Board of the Hillhouse High School Sentinel.

SECOND CHILDREN’S CONCERT
The New Haven Symphony Orchestra will present the second concert in the Young People’s Series on Saturday afternoon, February 17, in Woolsey Hall. The principal part of the program will consist of excerpts from The Nutcracker Suite by Tchaikowski and from the Opera Hansel and Gretel by Humperdinck. Michael Applebaum will be the soloist in a performance of the third movement from the Third Concerto for Violin and Orchestra by Sansone.
The first concert in this year’s series was given on Saturday, February 3, and received enthusiastic response from a capacity audience. Mr. Harry Berman is the conductor and the guiding spirit of these concerts. His excellent arrangements and skillful presentation of the roles of the various orchestral instruments have added to the enjoyment of music for many people.
