tended annual instruction sessions conducted by the Connecticut State Farm Bureau and the Department of Internal Revenue to qualify as an expert in making out Farm Income Taxes. In this capacity, Miss Schilf has been of service to farmers from all parts of New Haven County. She is a member of Bethany Grange.
Miss Schilf is a past-president and is now Treasurer of the New Haven LaSalle Club.
Miss Schilf, a Republican, was first elected to the post of Tax Collector in 1947, succeeding Clifton D. Rosha, who had held the position for many years. She also serves as an Assistant Town Clerk in the office of Town Clerk Sidney Svirsky.
Miss Schilf lives with her mother on Bethway Road. She has one sister, Mrs. Thelmal M. Pfenninger of Mt. Carmel.

WOODBRIDGE NOTES
Nine men and one engine of the Woodbridge Fire Department were called at 3:25 on Sunday afternoon for a grass fire on property of John Peck on Beecher Road. A crew of junior firefighters, now in training, also helped extinguish the blaze.

with the Bassett Metal Goods Company in Shelton. He then became associated with the brokerage firm of Day, Stoddard and Williams in New Haven, remaining there until 1941. At present he is Office Manager of the S. O. and C. Company, a branch of the United Shoe Machinery Corporation, makers of brass goods, in Shelton.
He was commissioned a 2d Lieutenant in the Field Artillery, Officers’ Reserve Corps, in December, 1918.
Mr. Booth was Collector of Old Age Assistance Taxes from the time these taxes were instituted, in 1936, until they were abolished. He was first elected Property Tax Collector in October of 1945. He has also served as Republican Registrar of Voters.
He is a member of the Graduates and Yale Clubs of New Haven, of the Men’s Club of Orange, and of the National Association of Antique Watch and Clock Collectors. He is also an Associate member of the Orange Fire Department.
Mr. and Mrs. Booth live on Orange Center Road. They have a daughter, Harriet, who is in New York City, and a son, John, who is married and lives in this town.

MAKING OF VOTERS
The Selectmen and Town Clerk of the Town of Bethany will be at the Town Hall in said Town on Saturday, April 14, 1951, from 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., and on Saturday, April 21, 1951, from 9:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., to examine the qualifications of those who appear to be made voters and to administer the electors’ oath to those who are found qualified.
If it shall appear that the qualifications of age or residence of any applicant shall not have matured by April 21, 1951, but will mature on or before May 7, 1951, then the Selectmen and Town Clerk will hold a session for the purpose of admitting such applicants to the electors’ oath on Saturday,  May 5, 1951, between 3:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M.
