Mr. and Mrs. Kendrick Gooch of Bethmour Road announce the birth of their third child and first daughter on Friday, January 26, at the Griffin Hospital in Derby.
All of the Sunday School classes of the First Church of Christ will see a movie about Puerto Rico on February 2. This is a part of their program in the study of Children of Other Lands.
The Brownies group numbered thirty members at their first meeting last Tuesday afternoon. Officers for the first month were elected from the fourth grade. They were: Rita Williams, Secreatary, and Judy Reil, Treasurer.
Mr. and Mrs. Chester B. Kerr have moved into the house on Falls Road recently vacated by Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Brodie. Mr. Kerr has been appointed to the Book Department of the Assistant Secretary of State, Edward Barrett, and will be in Washington, D.C., part of each week. Living with the Kerrs is a new Bethany family, Mrs. Margaret McLean Jannick and her duaghter, Jennifre. The Jannicks came here from Cambelltown, Argyllshire, Scotland. Jennifer is in third grad at the Community School.

Firemen Plan Bingo Party Saturday Night
Interesting List of Prizes Will Include Load of Fertilizer
On Saturday evening, Febrary 3, the Bethany Voluntter Firemen's Association will sponsor a Bingo Party at the Town Hall, beginning at 8:00 P.M. Among the many valuable prizes is one which will appeal to any gardener, be he amateur or professional -- a load of garden fertilizer (donated to the cause by Laurence Peck). Everyone is cordially invited -- and urged -- to attend this party. The proceeds will help the Fire Department in its efforts to protect life and property in the town.
