In October 2025, Orange residents of all ages submitted original spooky stories to our 1st library-wide writing contest.
The entries have been published in the first edition of Spooky Orange, which is now available to read here and in print at the Library. Print copies have been distributed to everyone who submitted. Winners were selected in three age categories – children, teen, and adults – and their stories are denoted with an asterisk in the table of contents.

Winners will also be featured in the first edition of Spooky CT, a brand-new statewide spooky story collection from libraries across Connecticut, which we will link here when it is ready for publication.
Thank you to everyone who submitted. We hope you enjoy their spooky, wonderful stories!
