Case Memorial Library cardholders now have access to an on-demand streaming service called Kanopy. You’ll find independent, classic, international, and documentary films. Included are the Criterion Collection, the Great Courses, and PBS. You can stream up to 6 films per month, 1 series from the Great Courses, and unlimited plays in Kanopy Kids.
Getting Started
To use Kanopy, you’ll need a valid library card from the Case Memorial LIbrary to create a Kanopy account. We recommend doing this in a web browser, but you can also set up your account in the Kanopy app for iOS or Android.
To Create an Account
- Go to kanopy.com in a supported web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge).
- Select Get Started.
- Select Find Your Library.
- Search by name (Case Memorial Library) or zip code (06477).
- Select Case Memorial Library from the list then click Select This Library.
- Enter your library card number then select Continue.
- Create your Kanopy account.
- Enter your name and email address, create a password, and click Sign Up.
- Click Watch Now to get started.
How to Access Kanopy
Web Browsers
If you have a Windows computer, Mac computer, or Chromebook, you can use Kanopy in your web browser at kanopy.com. We suggest using the latest version of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge.
Mobile Devices
You can download the Kanopy mobile app on supported mobile devices:
- iPhones/iPads with iOS 9.0+ (get it from the Apple App Store)
- Android devices with Android 5.0+ (get it on Google Play)
- Amazon Fire tablets with FireOS 5+ (get it from the Amazon Appstore)
Note: Video playback is not supported in mobile device browsers. Use the mobile app for the best Kanopy experience on mobile devices.
Smart TVs and Supported Devices
The Kanopy TV app can be used on the following devices and TVs.
- AndroidTV with Android 4.4+
- AppleTV with tvOS 10.2+
- FireTV with FireOS 5+
- Roku with RokuOS 7.7.0+
- SamsungTV with Tizen 2.3+
- Telstra TV (any model)
To use the Kanopy app on one of these devices or TVs follow these steps:
- Create your Kanopy account as described above.
- Install the Kanopy app on your supported device or TV then launch Kanopy.
- Select Log In and use one of these methods to log in.
- Enter your email address and Kanopy password then select Log In. Your TV will display a code. You can link your device in one of two ways:
- In a web browser, go to www.kanopy.com/link and enter the code displayed on your TV. You’ll be prompted to log in first you haven’t already done so in that browser.
- In the Kanopy mobile app go to More>Link Your Device and enter the code displayed on your TV.
- Enter your email address and Kanopy password then select Log In. Your TV will display a code. You can link your device in one of two ways:
