DAVID DEAN SMITH, JR.
From Iowa comes word that Television is being used to treat patients in Mental institutions. Dr. Geo. Wadsworth, superintendent of the Iowa hospital for epileptics and school for feebleminded at Woodward ... reports that television is the best medicine that ever came along. The patients respond to the pictures on the screen ... and enjoy them. Dr. Wadsworth says further ... "Television is an excellent morale builder ... and our behavior problems at Oak Hall have just about vanished since it arrived here." And it's widely believed by medical men that television will have an important place in breaking normal ward routine .. and so become a social benefit for mental institutions. We didn't think we'd see the day when TV would be called "good medicine." But from our own experience with and enjoyment of TV .. we can easily see why it would be.
More and more people are telling us. "We don't know what we'd do without our television set. It's been a boon to the whole family." That's how you'll feel when you get your new Magnavox set. It's built to give you years of pleasure. Get it now ... and be sure to enjoy all the exciting things on TV. We have a good service organization to assure the best installation and service.
